I need to discuss the purpose of this site. It is not my only one. I have brysonclan.com which is for researchers on the Bryson family. I also am a lay minister and have a website gospelmailbox.org that supports that ministry. If you are about ready to run thinking this website will be preaching to you, don’t leave yet. This site is exclusively for my professional activities and secular hobbies.
I have been active in the IT business for nearly 30 years. I have managed IT departments, owned a software company, worked as a contract programmer and support person, wrote for major trade magazines, created software patents, mentored new professionals, professionally critiqued others work for potential legal proceedings, and advised companies when things did not go well with their implementation. Most of the postings here will be about my professional trade.
I have also had a very wide range of hobbies. I have not worked every second of my waking life.
I have played with broadcast media most of my adult life. I have been a DJ, worked in TV, produced radio commercials and jingles. I still play around with broadcasting.
I have played guitar and a range of other instruments from my preteen years until now. I do not remember when I learned to read music. It feels like I have always known how to read it but it must have been around eight years old. I started writing music not much later. I do not know if anyone else has enjoyed my music but I know I have enjoyed it.
All of this being said, let me say something clearly and give you the best advice that I can give: you are not what you make but who you love and who loves you. Patents, publications, products, programs, music, trophies, and trinkets are not the substance of life. It is just the fun stuff you get to do when you are not changing diapers and laughing around a dinner table.
